Lightning smokes Q1

AMBULANCE and fire crews were called to the Q1 after reports of smoke coming from the top of the building during yesterday’s storms.

Reports indicate the tower was struck multiple times by lightning.

The city felt the full brunt of winds, rain and even hail as storms lashed the Coast.

Trees were brought down at Nerang and houses lost power.

Forecasts suggest the Coast could be in for something similar this afternoon.
