INDIA IN MIX FOR GOLD
India will go into the badminton competition at GC2018 hoping to end Malaysia’s streak of three consecutive Commonwealth Games gold medals in the mixed team competition.
Malaysia won gold in the fastest racket sport in the world in Melbourne 2006, Delhi 2010 and Glasgow 2014 but India is the top ranked nation.
The groups for the mixed team competition were drawn last week with India, Malaysia, Singapore and England as the top seeds in their respective groups.
In the 16-nation competition, Australia drew Group C against England, South Africa and Uganda.
The GC2018 badminton competition takes place from April 5-15 at the Carrara Sports and Leisure Centre with the mixed team event from April 7-9.
