Queensland

Severe to extreme heatwave conditions across much of the state as hot to very hot conditions persist, particularly over the northern inland, western, central and southern districts. The slight chance of showers and gusty storms over inland areas northeast of about Boulia to St George, more likely over the northern interior and the southern central and southeastern inland with some storms possibly severe. There is also some chance of a storm reaching the southern coast late in the day. Some high cloud will extend into the far southwest of the state though with little to no rainfall expected. The slight chance of a shower or storm over the far northern Peninsula. Fine and mostly sunny conditions are expected over the eastern tropics and central coast. Moderate northwest to northeasterly winds about the north of the state and through eastern districts. Moderate to fresh south to southwesterly.
