NOTHING BUT BEST FOR SHAE

- CONNOR O’BRIEN

FOR Shae Davies, there’s no better bloke to be driving for than Paul “The Dude” Morris.

Davies has long been working his way up through the Supercars feeder categories and yesterday was confirmed for a move across to Norwell-based Paul Morris Motorsport.

The Gold Coaster placed fifth in the Super2 series last year with Nissan-powered MW Motorsport but saw Morris’ tutelage as a big plus in jumping ship for 2018.

“I’ve admired Paul for many years as a driver-coach and as a driver and the team do a fantastic job putting that car on the grid,” Davies said of the former Supercars veteran.

“He has got so many years of experience. I’ve raced against him at various times.

“He’s an aggressive driver – I love his style – and is just a wealth of knowledge both technically with a car point of view as well as a driving point of view. A big value-add for me.

“I just like the way he goes about racing: It’s no nonsense, all going fast.”

Davies added he still holds hope of reviving his Supercars main game dreams – he had a brief Erebus Motorsport stint in 2016 – but is keeping his career options open.

Morris told the Bulletin Davies was a clear choice to take the wheel of the No.67 car.
