Pastor’s son faces trial

A PASTOR’S son who allegedly raped and inappropri­ately touched four girls he met through his father’s congregati­on has been committed to stand trial.

The man, who cannot be legally named, faces multiple charges including rape, using a carriage service to procure a child and indecently touching a child.

It is understood the man, now in his 20s, met the girls while through his father’s congregati­on when he was between the ages of 17 and 19.

The offences are alleged to have occurred between 2014 and 2016 during sleepovers at the family home and in his car.

The man has been committed to stand trial in the Southport District Court at a date yet to be determined.
