Hayden hooked on books

-

HAYDEN Moss is no stranger to the Nerang Library.

In fact, the Nerang kindergartener is there every fortnight looking for his next big book to read – preferably anything about dinosaurs or volcanoes.

But the four-year-old also likes rhyming books and at the moment is reading Enid Blyton’s The Naughtiest Girl.

“My favourite type of books are adventure stories,” Hayden said.

His mother Lauren Moss said he can easily get through 10 books a fortnight and knows the library back to front.

“When we get to the library he always runs ahead and I’m the one catching up,” she said.

“His kindergarten took him on an excursion to his local library last week and he enjoyed that. Any excuse to go back.”

While Hayden isn’t old enough to read independently his parents say he often plucks books off shelves to look at by himself.

“He definitely has a curiosity for books and after we finish a book I notice he goes back to his favourite parts.”
