DAMI’S ON TRACK FOR OUR GAMES

- SUZANNE SIMONOT suzanne.simonot@news.com.au

DAMI Im had no idea the Gold Coast was home to a Vegas-style showroom – until she was booked to play a headline show in it.

Coast audiences will be the first to hear Im and her full band show off songs from her upcoming fourth album, I Hear A Song, live in concert when she plays The Star Gold Coast on April 5.

“I didn’t know. It’s the first time I’ve seen it. It’s impressive,” Im said when she stepped inside The Star’s theatre this week.

Im said her Coast concert would be “a showcase of who I am as an artist”.

“I’ll be playing the piano, there will be a lot of ups and downs – real quiet moments as well as up-tempo ones,” she said.

“It’s really a showcase of songs from the new album before I go on an Australian tour as well as some of my old hits and party numbers .”

Im said fans could look forward to a more strippedback, soulful sound on the new album, recorded in Nashville and available for pre-order today.

Im’s Coast show is the day after the Opening Ceremony of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games but if Im is on the Coast that week to take part, she’s not saying.

“I can’t reveal anything as yet,” she said.
