STORY OF TWO LAKES

WHILE there have been tears at Black Swan Lake this week, another of the city’s freshwater assets has a celebration of sorts planned. The Regatta Water Lake at Oxenford next Sunday for the first time will lift a ban on motorised tinnies for a fishing competition, and food vans are booked.

My lake spies suggest the largest species in the lake is a jumping carp, that no-one will shout “we need a bigger boat” nor are musos attending the event required to know a theme which starts with a familiar “Duunnn dun … dun dun”.
