FISHING

- By Gold Coast Fishing Tackle

Offshore: Large swell is forecast for the Gold Coast today which will make heading offshore a dangerous idea. If conditions improve there will be good marlin fishing with blue marlin and some striped marlin in the canyons, big bull dolphinfish around too. 24s & 26s: trag jew on bait. 12 and 18 fathoms: spotty mackerel. There are also some pan-sized snapper at the 24s.

Seaway: Nice GTs around the wash and big tailor on poppers. There are also some mangrove jack to catch on live bait as well. Broadwater/Jumpinpin:

Fishing for whiting has been really good, there are some nice flatties around and some good mangrove jack in the Runaway Bay canals and in the Coomera River. There have also been a few prawns around Jacobs Well.

Freshwater: Hinze Dam is fishing well for saratoga right up the back in the timber and bass are still biting too.
