Tayla blow for Blues

-

STAR Carlton forward Tayla Harris will have to roll the dice at the tribunal is she is to be available for Friday night’s blockbuster against fellow flag contender Western Bulldogs.

The Blue was hit with a onematch ban after she punched Lion and former teammate Leah Kaslar in the back of the head during Carlton’s loss to Brisbane on Saturday night.

Match review officer Michael Christian deemed the strike, which happened at the bottom of a pack, intentional with low impact to the head, worthy of a two-match ban that is reduced to one with an early guilty plea.

Harris, who is also a boxer, would risk missing an extra week if she did challenge and failed at the tribunal tonight.

Carlton is fourth on the AFLW ladder. The competition is close – they are two of five teams sitting on two wins for the year.

No AFLW player has gone to the tribunal this season.

Carlton interim coach Nick Rutley admitted after the game that he was concerned.
