- ANDREW POTTS

THE Gold Coast Bulletin has performed strongly in new market research figures which show a “significant” increase in its online traffic in the past year.

The January Nielsen DRM report results show the overall audience of goldcoastbulle- tin.com.au grew 18.14 per cent from January 2017 to January 2018 with 47,000 more people accessing the site than the previous year.

The report reveals the website’s smartphone audience grew 46 per cent over the same period.

Bulletin editor Ben English welcomed the figures.

“These figures are an encouraging sign that readers are responding positively to the significant investment and commitment we have put into our digital product,” he said.

“We introduced a deliberate strategy of publishing more frequently, when our consumers demand it.

“Moreover, we are working hard to improve the quality of that content with more moving pictures, rich interactives and exciting presentation of breaking news and investigations.

“We will continue to innovate to ensure we deliver the best possible news, entertainment, lifestyle and sports for the Gold Coast.”
