FROM SOUTH TO THE WEST

ON its route to the opening ceremony on the Gold Coast in 42 days’ time, the Queen’s Baton will today visit the towns of Aldinga, Hahndorf, Lobethal and Stirling in South Australia.

Commonwealth Games gold medallists Yvonne Gowland (1974, shooting), Diane Burge (1966, athletics) and Annette Edmondson (2014, cycling) will be among the batonbearers.

Tomorrow the baton will hit Western Australia for a sixday journey from Albany to Karratha.
