SUMMARY

E groundswel­l eases a couple of notches overnight but continues to pump at steadily decreasing levels throughout the day. A reinforcin­g round of SSE windswell holds potential for a renewed push in size towards 3 to 5ft along exposed beaches today, wrapping in at lower levels along the points under strong SSE winds. Swell direction turns ESE into Thursday and holds around 3 to 4ft or more as winds also tend ESE at strength. An easing trend in E and SSE swells follows into Friday and the weekend.

TODAY

SE windswell peaks early at a consistent 3 to 4ft+ exposed QLD beaches. Up to 4 to 5ft+ across northern NSW south facing breaks, wrapping into the points and bays at anywhere from 2 to 4ft with size depending on exposure. WIND: SSE to SE 20 to 25 knots.

TOMORROW

Short range ESE windswell. Consistent 3 to 4ft+ exposed breaks. Wrapping at lower levels inside the points and bays. WIND: ESE 15 to 25 knots.

FRIDAY

Mix of E and SSE swells ranging from 2 to 4ft exposed breaks, wrapping at anywhere from 1 to 3ft inside the points and bays with size depending on exposure. WIND: ESE 10 to 15 knots, tending ENE during the afternoon.

SATURDAY

Mix of Fading E and SSE swells. Slower sets to 2 to 3ft exposed breaks, grading smaller inside the points and bays. WIND: Early light and variable tending NE 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon.
