BOOZE DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR

- AMANDA ROBBEMOND

CHEERS to that!

Gold Coast residents can now get wine, beer and spirits delivered straight to their door within the hour.

The new BWS service offers a solution for those who run out of alcohol while entertaining, and could also stop drink-driving.

“I think it’s a much safer option for people, especially if you’re hosting,” Hope Island resident Krystal Ellis said.

“I think it will keep a lot of people off the roads. And when you’re having a big party, just to make entertaining easier.”

Ms Ellis said it was handy to have alcohol sent to the house when guests came over for weekend barbecues or family events.

She said the service meant that people wouldn’t have to leave the party and catch an Uber to collect more drinks.

BWS general manager Guy Brent said the Express Delivery was the “next evolution in our vision to be the local bottle shop of Australians”.

The service will be available seven days a week.

Drinks can be ordered online and delivery costs $10 for orders under $100.

Orders over $100 are delivered free.
