Lynn’s $2m dive hurts
AUSTRALIAN cricketer Chris Lynn took what could become a $2 million tumble in Auckland last night as New Zealand became the land of the long, dark cloud.
Lynn left Eden Park in agony with a dislocated shoulder after breaking his summer long “no dive’’ edict against New Zealand in the Twenty20 tri-series final.
While initial reports say the damage could have been worse it was, nevertheless, a shuddering setback for his career.
The Queenslander had abstained from diving for balls with the Brisbane Heat since returning from shoulder surgery.
He was sent for scans last night and the dive will be his greatest regret if he is not fit in April to fulfil his Indian Premier League contract worth almost $2 million.
