Kimmince gets call-up
GOLD Coast captain Delissa Kimmince has been named in the Australian women’s cricket squad for a Twenty20 tri-series with India and England.
The Dolphins all-rounder, who has played for Brisbane Heat in the Women’s Big Bash League over summer, was named in one of two Australian squads yesterday.
Kimmince, 28, missed out on Australia’s one-day team that will play three games against India from March 12 but was named for the T20 triseries begins on March 22.
Aussie skipper Meg Lanning’s return to top-level cricket will be complete when she leads Australia on the tours.
It has been a seven-month recovery for Lanning, who had surgery on her injured shoulder, forcing her to miss the Women’s Ashes series last year.
