Clyburn tears up Bonville

BRITON Holly Clyburn set a course record with a superb five-under 67 to lead after the opening round of the Australian Ladies Classic at Bonville.

In a testament to the challenge of the Coffs Harbour course, only 18 players of the 142-strong field broke par.

“If you make a mistake (here) you are going to get punished,” said legendary Briton Laura Davies, who shot one-under.

Gold Coast-based Rebecca Artis was equal 21st after shooting a par-72.
