NERANG TRAFFIC EXPECTED BUSIEST TIMES

-

GAMES ROUTE NETWORK (GRN)

The GRN links the athletes village to venue precincts to help athletes and officials get to their events on time. The GRN is located along parts of the M1, Southport-Nerang Rd, Nerang Connection Rd, Cotton St, Ferry St, Lawson St and Hope St.

GAMES LANES

(Only accessible to accredited vehicles) – none.

NERANG TRAIN STATION

Nerang Train Station will be transformed into a GC2018 Transport Hub to connect Games travellers with shuttle services to the Carrara Sports Precinct, Broadbeach Precinct and Nerang State Forest. If you have to travel by train at the busiest periods, allow plenty of extra time and be prepared for queuing.

PARKING AT NERANG TRAIN STATION

Due to the closure of Boulton Dr, parking in the eastern car park will be unavailable during the Games. You will need to park in the western car park off Warrener St. People travelling to the station are asked to consider walking or cycling, catching the bus or being dropped off by a family member or friend.

OTHER IMPACTS

The M1 and ramp Exit 69 will be busiest on April 12, particularly so before and after event session times.

If travelling between Nerang and Broadbeach, be aware Nerang-Broadbeach Rd will be closed adjacent to Metricon Stadium. The GRN and Games Lanes (in places) will also be located on Nerang Broadbeach Rd near the Gooding roundabout and on Hooker Boulevard.
