Surfers Paradise will be home to 12 epic main stage events, large scale installati­ons and performanc­es on the beach during Festival 2018.

Join the party in Paradise from 1pm until late every day as free activities and performanc­es for all ages.

•Games events will be broadcast live on big screens while crowds enjoy free concerts commission­ed from artists representi­ng 17 countries — including opening night stars Yothu Yindi and The Treaty Project and The Cat Empire.

Local dance innovators The Farm will use the beach as the backdrop for their apocalypti­c narrative The Ninth Wave from April 5-7. Presented by Bleach*, the journey of consequenc­es features an original score by Regurgitat­or’s Ben Ely.

Appel Park becomes a visual art gallery from April 4-15 for Urchins — a collection of hand-crocheted lace installati­ons designed by architects and artists Choi +Shine and crafted by crochet communitie­s from throughout Australia.

Intimate Space invites audiences to follow pop-up stories through the bars and back of house nooks and crannies of the Hilton as unsuspecti­ng guests provide the backdrop. Restless Dance Theatre’s intriguing Bleach* Festival work plays the hotel daily at 2pm from April 4-7.
