DRIVERS along the M1 at Oxenford at night have been greeted by an exciting new sight, with the lights of Movie World’s new $35 million Topgolf attraction switched on ahead of its mid-June opening.

A first for Australia, the golfing entertainment phenomenon from the

US is like “nothing we’ve ever seen before”, said Village Roadshow Theme Park chief executive officer Clark Kirby.

Described as like the “gold class movies of the driving range”, the latest stand-alone attraction to hit the Coast occupies 15 acres next to Movie World.

The experience will feature golf games for all ages along with a food, cocktails and drinks, big-screen TVs and music in climate-controlled suites.

“It has such a broad appeal – there is really nothing remotely like it on the Coast or in Australia,” Mr Kirby said. “It doesn’t matter if you are a golfer or if you’ve never played.

“The golf balls will be microchipped so you can track the data and compete with your friends.”
