From what I can gather, Queensland Rail are not putting on any extra trains to coincide with the Bruno Mars concert on March 14th. A bit different to Sydney who are. To catch the last train from Boondal we will have to leave the concert at 10pm and we've paid 365 a ticket! And these blokes are running a Commonwealth Games? Pathetic.

Aussies are too up themselves to do menial jobs like cleaning and farm work. We need some migrants as they aren't afraid of hard work.

I recently advertised for staff. Had 150 applications, called 20 in for interviews, only 2 bothered to reply to the interview request. My guess is they hit that apply button to meet Centrelink requirements and never really wanted the job. A shame really, we were school hours friendly too.

Why can’t Aussies work the basics out, you want Australian jobs and industry with high wages but you all shop at Kmart and demand rock bottom prices. You guys are fuelling the death of industry in Australia. Buy Australian made - support your own country.

understand that having 10 million tourists a year and being the fastest growing city in the country (percentage wise) isn't a good thing for locals unless infrastructure can keep pace. Las Vegas is also the fastest growing city in America with 50 million tourists and doesn't have the same infrastructure problems we have. What a great article by Louise Roberts (GCB 31/3). In recent months we have indeed spoiled the easy relationships between males & females because a great many males do not want to risk being labelled as a ’sleeze’ or a predator. I think that deep down most women enjoy a compliment or two about their hair, dress or achievement – as do men. It will be a sad sad world if the spontaneous act of help and appreciating each other ceases to be part of our human nature.

Firstly, let me say that I am a female in my early 70s. If a drunken/drugged male hits someone (coward punch) he is charged and hopefully punished as the sole perpetrator, but a drunken/drugged female who ends up having sex with an equally drunken/ drugged male can call it rape the next day even though she has been a willing participant. The male is in trouble but the female is not responsible. Myself and other friends have in our youth thought in the dim lighting and drunken state that we had found Prince Charming, instead in the cold light of day we discovered the exact opposite. We took responsibility and hopefully learnt from it.

It's interesting that pubs/clubs with gaming machine that will be affected by the Comm Games are getting $1.2 million each as compensation. But not local business. I wonder why?
