GOLD COAST WRAP WITH LADBROKES’ TOM HACKETT

-

WINNERS

All Gifts (Race 3)

All Gifts was backed from $3.70 into $2.90 with Ladbrokes and it was an easy watch for punters. He did plenty of early work to find the lead but he was still strong at the end of the race and was holding his rivals late.

Signoria (Race 4)

Signoria ($2.60 into $1.95) was easily the best-backed runner with Ladbrokes and the punters were spot-on. She went straight to the front and when she kicked clear at the top of the straight, the race was all over.

Aimalac Bobby (Race 5)

This was a huge win from the pint-sized gelding. He was caught five horses wide throughout and he ended up in the worst part of the track in the straight but showed a great will to win late. His record over 900m at the Gold Coast is outstanding, with three wins and two seconds from seven starts.

LOSERS

Charming Prince (Race 6)

Charming Prince was backed from $6 into $3.40 with Ladbrokes but he was the first horse beaten. He was under pressure a long way from home and knocked up badly in the straight. It would surprise if he receives as much support in the market at his next start.

Iowa (Race 7)

Iowa is a horse that has not lived up to her early potential. Jockey Glen Colless had her in a lovely position in the run and she looked to be cruising at the top of the straight but there was nothing in the tank when she was asked for an extra effort.

NEXT TIME

Yeah The Boys (Race 2)

On a day when it was tough to make up ground from the tail of the field, Yeah The Boys caught the eye with a fast-finishing effort. He likely would have won if Anthony Allen had found clear running early and that longawaited maiden race win could be just around the corner.

Toorak Comedy (Race 6) Toorak Comedy started the race at $101 and paid $20 for the place but she will start much shorter than that the next time she is at the races. Her final sectionals were outstanding and she could be a filly that is better suited over further ground.
