No halting this Roaring roll

-

ROAR coach John Aloisi insists another weekend off will benefit his side, despite the danger of Brisbane’s late-season momentum being halted.

Another A-League split round means the Roar don’t play again until Saturday week when they visit Allianz Stadium to meet competition leaders Sydney FC.

There was also a split round last month, with the Roar losing 1-0 to Newcastle the week after the break.

A week before that break Brisbane scored an upset 2-1 away win over Melbourne Victory. It was their third victory in four A-League matches.

They have now won four of their past six domestic matches after their 1-0 weekend success over Adelaide United at Suncorp Stadium. With five rounds left, the Roar are only two points outside the top six.

Aloisi was confident the Roar can continue their form after this weekend’s break.

“We can recover from these last two games, which have been difficult because of the conditions, so I think it (the break) is coming at a good time,” Aloisi said.
