’Attacker’ skips court

THE man accused of a terrifying attack on a woman in Nerang where she was allegedly bundled into a van has not appeared in court.

Connor Heidke, 19, was to face Southport Magistrates Court charged with deprivation of liberty, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and making threats.

Police will allege a woman escaped his van on Saturday night and flagged down another van for help.

It will be alleged Heidke rammed the van, threatened the driver and pulled the woman from the car before bundling her into his own van.

Heidke, who spent the night in the Southport Watchouse, did not appear today and his matter was adjourned until Tuesday morning.
