Message from fans: New start

- RHONDA TOMS

SEASON 2018 is now upon us and we move into it with expectation – as we do with each new season.

The past seven months has seen an incredible amount of change occur within our club and is change that was required. As fans we start each year with a sense of “what could be”.

It is only natural to want success on the field as there is nothing like leaving the stadium and knowing that your team has taken the two points.

The Titans have so many new faces including the coach, new owners, football department and players.

They carry with them the expectations of a community to find that success they are craving to see and experience.

As a club we have been predicted to finish at the bottom of the ladder in 2018 – we don’t believe that for one minute.

Our coach tells us “we will surprise a few” and we can’t wait to see that happen.

Ash Taylor and Kane Elgey are such a young pairing who need time; Michael Gordon brings experience and knowhow in the clutch moments.

Our captain Ryan James, and his leadership group, provide a steady hand, while we now boast a wealth of young guns waiting to grasp any opportunities that come.

This will no doubt be a learning, growing and developing year where we will need to be harder and better in defence. Our attack will need to show that finishing touch we have missed at times.

As fans we need to be realistic about what can be achieved in one season and we need our team to show that heart and determination.

Effort on effort will be required and in turn admired.
