EX-bikie on DVO breach denied bail

- LEA EMERY

A FORMER bikie boss who was caught screaming at his young son and partner in public in December has been denied bail.

It had been alleged he was seen punching his 14-year-old son but police have no evidence of such. Police prosecutor Sam Hill yesterday told the court the informant who saw the punch was too scared to give an official statement.

Mr Hill said police had statements from other witnesses who said the ex-bikie yelled at the teenager before punching a car seat on December 29 last year. He was later seen yelling at a former partner.

In a separate incident the ex-bikie was seen on December 10 yelling at the boy.

Defence lawyer Chris Hannay, of Hannay Lawyers, said it was conceded there was screaming and yelling.

“But apart from punching at the car seat there was no injures to anyone,” he said.

Mr Hannay said the exbikie, charged with two counts of breaching a domestic violence order, was trying to move on from his past.

Magistrate Clare Kelly said she felt there was a risk he would approach his son or former partner again. The man will appear in court tomorrow.
