Bindi Irwin turned into a Barbie
SHE’S a conservationist, wildlife warrior and role model. And now Bindi Irwin has been transformed into a Barbie.
A doll made in the likeness of Bindi, 19, has been revealed by toy giant Mattel to coincide with International Women’s Day.
“I am honoured to be part of the Barbie family,” Bindi said in statement.
“It is so important to empower girls and women to believe in their strength to make positive change in the world.
“Together we can make a difference.” Bindi is one of a string of high-profile women who have been transformed into Barbie form, in a ranged dubbed “Shero” (standing for “she hero”). They also include pilot Amelia Earhart, Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins and American Olympian Chloe Kim.
