Bakir in Brisbane site deal

-

FORMER mobile phone mogul-turned-property developer Ron Bakir has swooped on a large landholding in Brisbane’s booming western corridor.

The 13.1ha holding at Redbank Plains has been acquired in a $4.2 million deal.

According to property records, it was purchased through Greenwood Village Ipswich Pty Ltd, an entity linked to the Gold Coast-based identity and operator of Homecorp property group.

The site at 32 Greenwood Village Rd was sold with development approval in place for a staged 176-lot residential subdivision with an average lot size of 477sq m.

Brendan Hogan and Adam Rubie from Colliers International, who negotiated the deal, fielded more than 100 inquiries, including some offshore interest, during the expressions of interest campaign.

“Across the board in the western corridor we are seeing good strength in the market,” Mr Hogan said. “The sales rates and prices are very strong.

“We received five offers from local groups and new entrants to the Brisbane market, and in the end were able to secure an unconditional contract at the close of the campaign.”
