BEAUTY AND THE BEASTS IN TEXAS

ONLY in Texas could a rattlesnake hunt be bigger than, well, Texas.

The Superbowl for the city of Sweetwater is an event that generates more than $8 million for the community and on the weekend celebrated its 60th anniversary.

Beer, barbecue, big hats and, of course, a rattlesnake skinning competition were some of the highlights.

It also features a Miss Snake Charmer Pageant, where contestants showcase talents such as singing, dancing, playing an instrument – and skinning a reptile.
