Park page shut down

A FACEBOOK page allowing Gold Coasters to rent out their driveways during the Commonwealth Games has been shut down.

The ABC has reported that GOLDOC contacted Facebook to push for the shutdown, which occurred yesterday.

The site, which was quickly gaining traction, was set up to link locals looking for affordable parking with other locals with available parking spaces.

Glenn Crawford, a Southport trader, said it started when he offered his driveway to one of his staff members to help them out during the Games.

He decided to take the idea to social media and said he was “disappointed” the page had been closed.
