BATON COMING TO A SUBURB NEAR YOU

IN 18 days’ time, the Queen’s Baton will reach the Gold Coast for the final leg of its 388-day journey from Buckingham Palace.

Over four days, the Baton will make its way from Tamborine Mountain to Carrara Stadium for the opening ceremony. Here are the suburbs it will visit:

Sunday, April 1

Tamborine Mountain, Upper Coomera, Helensvale

Monday, April 2

Hope Island, Paradise Point, Runaway Bay, Labrador, Southport, Highland Park, Ashmore

Tuesday, April 3

Coolangatt­a, Tugun, Palm Beach, Burleigh Heads, Robina, Nobby Beach, Broadbeach

Wednesday, April 4

Surfers Paradise, Griffith University, Main Beach

Public transport services will also be affected on those days with delays, route diversions and bus stop closures.

The following routes will operate with diversions: 700, 704, 705, 711, 718, 719, 723, 725, 737, 738, 740, 741, 747, 751, 756, 760, 763, 764, 765, 766, 767 and 768.
