LINDA LEAVES HER MARK

- KATE PARASKEVOS

EX-TROPICAL cyclone Linda may be tracking away from the Coast, but the city will still feel the effects of the storm cell for the rest of the week.

Dangerous surf and abnormally high tides will make beaches particularly dangerous until Friday with gusty winds and showers likely.

But the good news is, the hazardous conditions will dissipate in time for the weekend according to a Weatherzone spokesman.

“The south-easterly circulation has helped to whip up the ocean causing pretty hazardous conditions,” he said.

“We will be getting gusty winds of up to 50 kilometres an hour which will calm down in time for the weekend.”

Locals could also expect scattered showers for the rest of the week as the storm cell continues to move away from the coastline with possible light showers over the weekend and south easterly winds.

Over the next three days, temperatures will be consistent at around 27-29C during the day and staying fairly warm at night at about 21C.

The Coast can expect an estimated 3 to 8 millimetres of rain over the next three days.
