Police help blood brother
POLICE are rolling up their sleeves to donate blood to the Australian Red Cross in order to keep supplies up. Police officers in the Robina area recently donated blood as part of the Bleed 4 Blue Challenge after a New South Wales officer, Detective Sergeant John Breda, was stabbed in the line of duty. He needed more than 44 bags of blood to save his life. Donated blood only has a shelf life of 42 days.
Two officers gave blood for the first time while a third donated plasma.
