SUMMARY

The tail end of the TC Linda swell may hold at solid 3 to 5ft levels across exposed breaks early tomorrow before rapidly easing throughout the day. Strong SSE winds prevail. A steep decline in ESE/ SE swell follows throughout tomorrow, ahead of a new round of S groundswel­l arriving this weekend, showing peak size of 3 to 5ft or more.

TODAY

Large, chaotic mix of NE and ESE cyclone-swell peaks early, ranging from 6 to 8ft+ exposed breaks, while wrapping at anywhere from 3 to 6ft+ inside the points and bays with size depending on exposure. Easing a foot or two during the afternoon. WIND: SSE 20 to 35 knots early, possibly S 25 to 35 knots.

TOMORROW

Easing ESE swell. Ranging from 4 to 5ft+ exposed breaks early, easing to 3 to 4ft+ later. Wrapping at 3 to 4ft+ inside the points and bays with size depending on exposure and easing during the day. WIND: Lighter WSW to SSW inshore tending SSE to 15 to 20 knots.

SATURDAY

Smaller leftover ESE/SE tradewind swell around 2 to 3ft+ across exposed QLD breaks, wrapping in at 1 to 3ft inside the points and bays. Directiona­l, long S groundswel­l shows across northern NSW coasts during the afternoon at 3 to 5ft. WIND: Lighter SW/SSW inshore tending SSE 10 to 20 knots.

SUNDAY

ESE tradewind swell ranging from 1 to 3ft exposed open breaks. Mixing with larger S groundswel­l at 3 to 4ft northern NSW exposed breaks and wrapping at lower levels inside the points and bays with size depending on exposure. WIND: Early light and variable WSW to WNW tending E to NE 5 to 15 knots during the afternoon.

MONDAY

Smaller mix of E and SSE swells. Mostly 1 to 2ft+ across southern Queensland coasts, possibly slightly bigger south of the border. WIND: Early light and variable to WNW up to 5 knots, tending ENE to 10 knots later.
