White’s ban hurts Bears

BURLEIGH have suffered a crushing blow to their hopes for a two-from-two start to the Intrust Super Cup season.

Former Titans prop Matt White has copped a two-week ban for dangerous contact made during the Bears’ 34-22 win over Sunshine Coast on Saturday. A similar prior offence added a game to his sentence.

White won players’ player in Round 1 and will leave a gaping hole for this week’s home blockbuster against Redcliffe and their derby against Tweed the following round.

Jamie Dowling is back on deck this week, while Titans winger Tyronne Roberts-Davis is also expected to face the Dolphins.
