M1 road rage victim Brock Prime has reportedly woken from a coma three weeks after he was allegedly attacked and left to die on the side of the busy Gold Coast motorway.

Prime, 29, has been in a critical condition in intensive care at Gold Coast University Hospital since he was allegedly bashed on the side of the M1 at Yatala on Saturday night February 24.

Police will allege he was bashed with a metal bar – believed to be a tyre iron or crowbar – by people travelling in a white van at 9.30pm.

Three men, Ryan Hallifax, 28, Jonathan Lawrence, 26, and Jordan Baklas, 27, have been charged with grievous bodily harm.

A photo posted to Mr Prime’s Instagram account yesterday morning showed him awake with most of his head shaved and tubes coming from his nose.

There was no caption on the photo, but supporters quickly celebrated, one writing “OMG Brock, I can’t believe you finally woke up. Thank God you are awake”.

Another posted, “You were always a tough bloke mate and to survive this ordeal just reiterates it even more. Hang in there mate xoxo”.

Just a fortnight ago, a court was told Mr Prime “may die”.

“This is a very serious matter,” police prosecutor Acting Senior Constable Ming Gu said at the time.

“He is in a critical condition and may die.”

A GoFund Me page has been set up in Mr Prime’s honour and $26,929 of a $50,000 goal has been raised to help the family.

Mr Prime was the sole bread-winner of the household after his step-dad passed away five weeks before he was allegedly attacked.

His family kept a bedside vigil and remain at the hospital daily.

Mr Prime remains in a serious but stable condition.
