Experience is telling

-

AUSTRALIAN vice-captain Gabi Simpson plans to tap into the rich vein of Commonwealth Games experience in the Diamonds sisterhood to prepare for the pressure of being gold medal favourites on the Gold Coast next month.

The 25-year-old has quickly become an integral part of the Australian set-up despite only making her Test debut in 2015.

While the Queensland Firebirds skipper has tasted success with the national side in Quad Series tournaments and Constellation Cup series, the dynamic wing defence has never played in a World Cup or Commonwealth Games.

“What I’m learning from the girls is that the Commonwealth Games is like no other tournament,” she said.
