ROBBIE TO PORTRAY SLAIN ACTOR

GOLD Coaster Margot Robbie is set to star in Quentin Tarantino’s latest film, about the Charles Manson murders.

The local actor confirmed to entertainm­ent website Stuff that she was going to be playing late actor Sharon Tate in his film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Sharon Tate was brutally murdered when she was nearly nine months pregnant by Charles Manson’s associates on August 9, 1969. Manson formed a cult in the late 1960s and then urged followers to commit nine murders in the same year.

Ms Robbie, 27, revealed she first learnt she had the role via an online article.

Tarantino’s ninth film will also star Leonardo DiCaprio among a starstudde­d cast.

Ms Robbie starred in and co-produced I, Tonya, as the disgraced US figure skater Tonya Harding.

She was recently in Sydney to promote her latest film, Peter Rabbit, where she voices one of Peter’s rabbit sisters, Flopsy.
