Marcus hits WA coast

TROPICAL Cyclone Marcus has made landfall on the Kimberley coast as a category two system, threatening lives and homes as the clean-up continues in Darwin.

Wind gusts of more than 150km/h were predicted to lash the WA coastline as the tropical cyclone passes over the far north of the state.

Heavy rain and flooding was also likely over the next 48 hours.
