WELCOME to the next level of hospitality on the Gold Coast ... level 19 to be exact.

These are the first photos inside ahead of the much-anticipated opening of The Star Gold Coast’s swish new rooftop bar and restaurant.

Called Nineteen at The Star, it will host a star-studded launch on Friday night before opening the next day.

The lush restaurant and bar lounge – on the top level of new luxury suite hotel The Darling – also has separate upstairs VIP dining and bar areas, an infinity pool and balcony that is perfect for sunsets overlooking the city.

The Star’s venue partners – Gold Coast restaurateur Simon Gloftis and entertainment guru Billy Cross – said yesterday the finished product exceeded expectations.

“It’s amazing. It’s different to the rest of the casino, it has its own unique feel and identity,” Mr Gloftis gushed. “Wait until you see the kitchen – it looks like an art gallery.”

Mr Gloftis, who owns popular Hellenika restaurant, said Nineteen has a 1500-bottle wine cellar and “rarity” of its own dry age fridge on site. “I’m pumped,” he said. Mr Cross, who once owned nine Glitter Strip nightspots before focusing on festivals and big events with Queensland entertainment giant Cross Promotions, said the quality was world class.

“The private VIP area on the mezzanine is perfect if you want to have a function, indulge in luxurious bottle service. There are open booths out by the pool, amazing to relax in on an afternoon.

“The spotlight is on our city – and Australia and the world is days away from experiencing one of the country’s most exciting new venues,” he said.

It has capacity for 500 and is what Star Entertainment Group managing director Queensland Geoff Hogg calls the “hero feature” of the Broadbeach site’s recent megabucks transformation.

It is one of 11 new bars and restaurants at The Star.

Nineteen’s restaurant opens for lunch Wednesday to Sunday, and dinner Wednesday to Saturday. The Nineteen bar opens 4pm Wednesday to Sunday.
