Jury out in medic case

A JURY is considering whether a Russian refugee faked his medical credentials when he worked at the Gold Coast Health Service and the Townsville Health Service.

Vincent Berg has pleaded not guilty in the Southport District Court to multiple charges including fraud and attempted fraud.

Berg claimed during his trial he had been trained by the KGB which is why records of his medical degree could not be found.

It is claimed Berg used fake documents to gain the two positions.

The jury retired to consider their verdict about 12.30pm yesterday. Deliberations will continue today.
