Ford takes Bond reins
BOND University have a new captain who will lead them into their pursuit of bigger and better things this Queensland Premier Rugby season.
Star back-rower Tai Ford has been appointed as skipper, replacing incumbent Sam Clifton, after two huge seasons for the Robina club.
Ford won the James Slipper Trophy for best and fairest in 2016 and was last year recognised as the side’s best forward.
He spent time training with Super Rugby franchise the Queensland Reds this preseason and is set to switch position to open side flanker in a bid to win a full-time contract.
Ford will be joined in the Bond leadership group by vicecaptains Salesi Manu and Harry Nucifora.
Nick Turner has been retained as club captain.
Bond start their campaign against Wests at Nerang on Saturday.
