ONE of our city councillors is going the distance in terms of reducing traffic on our roads in the lead-up to the Games.

Helensvale-based councillor William OwenJones on Tuesday took the light rail from his station and at Cypress Avenue hired a bike, peddling to Evandale for a meeting, arriving earlier than any colleague.

Perhaps he should have rethought that last sprint because he still beat the committee’s chair, the consistently late Bob La Castra.
