HE’S famous for playing one of the comic book world’s most famous villains but actor Michael Rosenbaum says even he gets starstruck when meeting his idols.

The man who brought Lex Luthor to life for a decade on the Superman television series Smallville will visit the Gold Coast next month for the annual Supanova pop culture expo where he will meet fans.

Rosenbaum says fans shouldn’t feel nervous about meeting him but admits he knows exactly how it feels.

After more than 20 years in the industry, the 45-yearold said he felt tongue tied when on the set of last year’s Marvel blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

“When I met Sylvester Stallone I nearly s--- my pants I was so nervous but it couldn’t have been better,” he said, speaking to the Gold Coast Bulletin from the US.

“We were singing ’70s and

’80s love songs and it was a blast but (director) James Gunn got mad.

“I would say to fans don’t be nervous, you are responsible for all of our careers and without you we do not exist so don’t worry about it, we see it all the time.”

Rosenbaum will be joined by his Smallville co-star Tom Welling at the event, which will be held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre at Broadbeach from April 27-29.

“Damn right I’m looking forward to coming out to Australia, the best place on Earth,” he said.
