CCC probe into prisons

QUEENSLAND’S corruption watchdog will hold a public hearing to examine misconduct in the state’s correction­al facilities.

The Crime and Corruption Commission has launched Taskforce Flaxton, which will focus on adult prisons and work camps in Queensland.

It will not examine corruption and corruption risks in community-based correction­s or youth detention.

“The CCC will conduct a public hearing to examine corruption and corruption risks in these facilities,” CCC chairman Alan MacSporran QC said.
