CCC probe into prisons
QUEENSLAND’S corruption watchdog will hold a public hearing to examine misconduct in the state’s correctional facilities.
The Crime and Corruption Commission has launched Taskforce Flaxton, which will focus on adult prisons and work camps in Queensland.
It will not examine corruption and corruption risks in community-based corrections or youth detention.
“The CCC will conduct a public hearing to examine corruption and corruption risks in these facilities,” CCC chairman Alan MacSporran QC said.
