Tassie gets a Bulls boost

TASMANIAN captain George Bailey said Queensland’s first Sheffield Shield winning dynasty can take credit for pointing his state to a brighter world.

Bailey will lead his side against the Bulls in today’s Sheffield Shield final at Allan Border Field where the tricky triumvirate of the lively Dukes balls, a heavy sky and a covered wicket could provide an early challenge.

Bailey recalled how Queensland’s breakthrough win inspired Tasmania, who waited until 2007 for a first title.
