Barcelona shot looms

FOUR Gold Coast boys will compete at the prestigious FC Barcelona Escola International Tournament in Catalonia from March 26-29.

Jagger Toombs (under-8), Zak Boyd, Zac McAuley (both under-10) and Aiden Toombs (under-12) will represent Barcelona’s Brisbane training school at the seventh edition of the tournament, which draws 1900 players from 22 countries.

“The idea of this tournament is for all of the (FC Barcelona) football schools to come together and play so they can all feel like they are Barcelona,” Brisbane Escola (school) director Taher Mortezaie said.

“Our idea is to try and develop football in Australia.”
