Police detain drunken pilot

PASSENGERS on flight TP523, which was cancelled after a co-pilot was found to be drunk, will likely have to wait three days to be flown from Stuttgart to Lisbon.

Today was “at the moment, the first day with seats available”, TAP Air Portugal said. The flight from Stuttgart to Lisbon was stopped shortly before takeoff on Friday when an airport worker found that the co-pilot reeked of alcohol.

The pilot was detained and bail was set at ($A15,600).
