ONE
of the loveliest attractions the Gold Coast City Council has ever given its citizens is the city’s Botanical Gardens at Rosser Park in Benowa. Yet many people do not know about them.
The gardens have a central lake
with floating birds including water hens and a whole family of black swans each year.
All around it there are walking paths and with beautifully planned and landscaped gardens. There are water features too. Picnic tables and barbecues are there for people to use and a safe area with equipment for children to play on.The gardens stretch right down to the river (what a pleasure for visitors). There is even a sensory garden for people with disabilities. There are also sculptures of Australian animals for all to enjoy.
I have often visited the gardens with my late husband and friends. They are a little bit of heaven on earth. Sight, smell and hearing are all gratified by calling birds, colourful flowers and falling blossoms.
I have been told this lovely place has not been mentioned on the list of attractions for the Commonwealth Games. Surely this is not the case? JUNE FOX, SOUTHPORT
