rosella Girl (race 4)
This was easily the best performance that Rosella Girl has produced to date. She travelled into the race beautifully and the way that she ran away from her rivals late suggests that she could be better over further.
Nordic Show (race 6) Nordic Show was a long way back entering the straight and was held up for clear running until the 300m mark but she savaged the line when he eventually got a run. There was plenty to like about the way that she worked through her gears late in the race.
Balius (race 8)
He may have ended up in the best ground in the straight but the way that Balius found the line was impressive. He quickly picked up his rivals and was able to put a gap on the rest of the field late. The Lonhro gelding definitely has ability and can string some wins together in Queensland. LOSerS
Okanagan Miss (race 1) Okanagan Miss ($3.30 into $2.70) was well-backed ahead of the opener but she lost ground from the barrier and was never able to get into the race. A disappointing effort from a horse that showed plenty of promise in her maiden racing campaign.
Seveneez (race 4)
Dan Griffin had Seveneez in an ideal position early and she looked to be travelling nicely at the top of the straight but he had nothing in the tank and was one of the first horses beaten. A disappointing debut for new trainer Ben Currie.
NeXT TIMe
Lord Of The Dreamz (race 2) Lord Of The Dreamz ($1.65 out to $2.90) drifted significantly in betting with Ladbrokes and was forced to do plenty of work in the early stages of the race after slightly missing the kick. He was still able to tough it out late and should be better suited over further.
Balearic (race 7)
Glen Colless probably pushed the button on Balearic a touch too early and he got caught wide coming around the final bend. He was only narrowly beaten and the big weight may have told late. He has more talent than his record suggests and another win is just around the corner.
